Parow was a residential suburb of Cape Town, located some 16km from the city centre. It was established by Johann Heinrich Ferdinand Parow, a Prussian ship's captain who was shipwrecked at the Cape in 1865. He purchased the land in 1886, and the village was proclaimed in 1901.

Lying in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, Parow is just East of Goodwood and Southwest of Bellville, with easy access to some of the mother city's major tributaries - the N7 and N1 - placing the Suburb in an effortlessly reachable position for those needing to get to the City Centre fast, or the outer reaches of the city via Paarl.

During the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Parow was largely transforming into a commercial area, with many shopping centres opening around Voortrekker road, one of the longest roads in Cape Town.

Parow East is a little industrial node in Parow. Situated just off Voortrekker Street and between Mike Pienaar Boulevard and Norden Street the area offers a good mix on small to medium size owner run businesses.

Transport Links: Within easy reach of the N1 and Voortrekker road the area is easily accessible for labour work staff with links to most public transport routes. The closest train station is Tygerberg which is a short 5-minute walk from Parow East.

Rental rates for industrial spaces range between R45 - R60 per square allowing it to be a very attractive market related rate for most businesses. With most industrial spaces being less than 1500m2 it is a very appealing area for small to medium size businesses.
